Sustained Shared Thinking Skills: Helping Children

Who is it for: Early years teachers and teaching assistants.



Areas Covered:

  • Practitioners are able to reflect on critical thinking skillsand how these are enhanced through 'sustained sharedthinking' between children andadults.
  • Practitioners learn how to improve their understanding of a child's thinking and help to extend it throughresponseswhich foster investigation, planning, problem solving, creativity and reflection.
  • Develop an understanding on the impact of the child's environment and their own role in improving children's language for thinking and involving learning fromparents.



Course Outcomes:

  • Course delegates will have an increased understanding ofthe development of an infant’s critical thinkingskills.
