Mindfulness: What It Is And How It Can Be Used In Schools

Who is it for:

Teachers, SENCos, mentors and teaching assistants

 

Areas Covered:

  • Brief introduction to the theory ofmindfulness.
  • Ways in which mindfulness can be used to support the development of children’s social,emotional and mental health (SEMH) skills inschool.
  • How our own mindful practice can influence and guidethe SEMH needs forchildren.

 Course Outcomes:

  • Basic understanding of the theory of mindfulness.
  • Practical strategies which can be used to develop‘mindful’ behaviours in children (andourselves).
  • An understanding of mindfulness approaches which can support and improve the SEMH needs of children young people and the adults who support them.
